Going back a few years here to my first wedding in Sweden. Getting to Sara & Karl’s ceremony in Stockholm’s diplomatic area wasn’t easy. I’d decided to walk from Central Station unaware the Gay Pride parade would be cutting the city in half, taking me nearly an hour to decide the only route through to join the march for a short time before I was able to dance my way to the other side.
Fortunately it was a 4pm ceremony at the Anglican church so I didn’t miss anything. Afterwards there was great evening sunlight in Rosendals on the city centre island of Djurgarden for portraits and drinks, where I was joined during dinner by my old shooting partner Lena Larsson for the remainder of the day. And it was a long day too: not many first dances start at half past one in the morning!
