It’s a wonderful feeling to be entrusted with photographing something as important your wedding day. The happier you are, the more fun my job is. So knowing what you want from your photographs is the priority that makes my work unique to you.
I’ve been a wedding photographer for over a decade, and believe the best way to tell the story of your day is through a photojournalistic, candid style, recognising and capturing real moments. Preferring the genuine to the posed ensures your wedding photographs let you relive the day you remember, rather than just choreographed snapshots.
Any family photographs and portraits I also keep an informal style. You look your best when relaxed in front of the camera, revealing the natural body language that says more about your relationship than any posed image.
Before I realised wedding photography was my true calling, I was a photojournalist for over a decade, working for most national newspapers at one time or another. Spotting and quickly capturing decisive moments in a huge variety of situations turned out to be ideal preparation, allowing me to find the best and most meaningful photographs with the minimum impact.
Being based in Edinburgh, I’m lucky be able to work at so many of this historical city’s beautiful venues, but I regularly attend weddings throughout Scotland and the UK. I’m also grateful to have photographed weddings throughout Europe including France, Spain, and especially Sweden from where my work has taken much influence.
I would love to hear from you if you’d like more information, have any questions, or want to explore how my photography might work for you.
I think wedding photography should not try to put you into a pre packaged box, but be as unique as you, your relationship, and the celebration you are planning.
